CLUTCH!

He did it again!
It is just what he does - game winning RBIs. I couldn't have been happier last night (or should I say this morning). Really I was all ready to celebrate in the 11th. Young got the single he needed, but it just didn't happen. He has come through so often in the past that now I just expect it. When he doesn't I am all disappointed and upset which is not really logical I know. I mean he isn't literally going to do it every time. And really what effect do any of those clutch at bats have on my life? None, but they sure do provide excitement. Well, excitement for me, though I probably drive my friends crazy talking about it. By the way, Stacy, sorry for the disappointment. Maybe next time you should change your tune and cheer for him - you might end up on the right side of things.
Hamilton's display, brilliant! Even the other players were in awe!
He doesn't want to talk about his homeruns though, he wants to talk about what God has done to get him here. That is even more impressive. He knows he's still got a battle. (So do we all, though I know I don't always acknowledge it and prepare for it as I should.) He also knows the only way to win that battle every day is through Jesus Christ. What an awesome stage to share such a testimony and what a tough stage to live out such a testimony! God is big enough for it all!

No bees, just a friendly raccoon

Well, the great Godair camping extravaganza was incredibly mild compared to last year. No bees to speak of and most importantly no falling in the fire! Well what stories could I possibly have to share?
How about my nephews who felt the need to get up (raring to go mind you) at 6 or 6:30 every morning. I'm sure all out neighbors loved that as they attempted to keep snoring away. Though really I don't think they could complain too much since their snoring was as loud as my nephews.

Then there was our resident raccoon who just made himself at home strolling through our campsite. He also made himself at home in the trach can, which one of our neighbors apparently did not know so he received quite a shock when he took his trash that night. Though after his reaction I am pretty sure the raccoon got a shock of his own. Ice cream treat time ended in a splash in the river as more ice cream ended up on the boys than in them.

The rapids from last year were still there and I don't think Elijah did anything else,
while Zeke checked out every inch of the swimming hole.

It was a great trip. The boys are growing up. And now...another is on the way! I guess live was just getting too calm in my brother's house?! :)

I know...summer is the only time I blog and baseball is all I blog about...well, you don't have to read it.

Well, since most of you have already read about the trip to the ballpark from Stacy and Jessica I really won't add much. We did have a great time. Anyone that wants to take in a game sometime just let me know (even if it's a game closer to you, or not close to either of us). I am always up for a game and a road trip.
This game was particularly fun for me going with so many great friends and getting a win in the bargain.
I do think Kelly was a little concerned he might have to separate Stacy and I there for a little while.

This not being my only trip to the ballpark this summer I am including some pics of a game about 2 weeks ago with my nephews.
I love my nephews and they always provide me with entertainment, but they also leave me completely scatterbrained. I actually got to the ballpark without my ticket (those of you who know me well know that just doesn't happen). Thankfully the nice people at will call just replaced my ticket.
My nephews actually watched most of the game. They each had a certain player they were watching for (the one on their shirts - my nephews are not going without their ranger gear).

coming soon: the 2nd annual Godair camping extravaganza! Here's hoping no one falls in the fire this year!

finally something new...and random

Christy www.whitegrrl.blogspot.com tagged me. So yes, you all finally get to see something new. Stacy had to help me make my list.

6 Quirks About You
Rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag at least 3 people at the end of your post and link to their blogs.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the fun begin!

Okay, I don't know how many of these will really be quirks or instead just random facts that most of you don't know. I'm having trouble thinking of quirks, probably because to me they are obviously perfectly normal. This may take me a while.

  • once went on a motorcycle ride with a random waiter, whom I had met just 2 days before when he traded with another waiter to wait on me. after the astonishment and stellar advice of close friends and family, I still would do it again.
  • just this week, out of dire necessity, I headed to the apartment gym at 9pm, not to work out mind you, but rather to shower! (hot water heater tragedy!)
  • as a child at the zoo I thought zebras wore pajamas (hence my love of zebras)
  • I travel to random places by myself (i.e. Guam, camping)
  • OK, I know Stacy, Cara, and Jenny know this one, but it brings back good memories. I had to take gymnastics in college - and I can't even do a cartwheel. The best part is I had to do an entire floor routine, with music! I used to practice after prayer breakfast on Friday mornings.
  • i can't swallow pills. i have tried so many different things that people have recommended to help (in bread, in potatoes, etc...) and still nothing.

Well, as long as it took for me to get around to doing this, surely everyone has been tagged.
